IMMIGRATION FILM GROUP
Tuesday, February 22nd at 4:30
The Immigrant & Refugee Film Group will be watching Minari this month, and meeting to discuss the film, in Zoomland, on Tuesday, February 22nd at 4:30. We hope you will join us.
A24 describes the film as a “tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.” (https://a24films.com/films/minari)
You can watch Minari in the following ways: Multnomah County Library has quite a few DVDs but also a long wait list. Other libraries may have more accessible copies. You can rent the film for $7.99 (ouch) on Prime. It’s also available on Hulu and Showtime. Currently Showtime is offering free one-month trials, so that’s an attractive option—as long as you remember to cancel before the end of the month.
