ENCORE! ENCORE! ENCORE!
Immigrant & Refugee Film Group meets 1/25/22 at 4:30 to discuss Icebox
This month’s film, Icebox, follows a 12-year-old boy from Honduras as he runs to the US to escape gangs who have scarred and tortured him. Indeed, gangs are even willing to shoot up an elementary school to try to own him. Viewers will come to understand the dangers of the journey, the conditions in a detention center—the icebox—and the legal status of asylum seekers such as this boy.
Those of us who met last week felt this film was too important for anyone to miss, so we've scheduled a second discussion for January.
Icebox is available on Amazon Prime for $3.99. DVDs are available through Multnomah County Library.
