THANK YOU FOR THE UNDIES
Our Undies the Tree undergarment drive is over for the year. On behalf of the congregation, our masked delivery women (Paris Hancock and Nanci Tangeman, along with Nell Egan) delivered 254 bras, pairs of underpants and socks and other items to Rose Haven shelter. The shelter will also receive a check for $350 thanks to the generosity of our congregation. Even with limited in-person visits to our giving tree in the Fellowship Hall, our church family came through for the women using the shelter. Thank you!
More about where your donations went: Rose Haven’s mission is to provide day shelter, resources, emotional support, and community connections to women, children and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness and poverty. Their vision is a community where everyone has safety, stability, health and home. Rose Haven is a low-barrier day shelter where the most vulnerable and marginal guests are welcome. They provide restrooms, hygiene supplies, clean clothes, showers, coffee, high quality meals, access to phones, a place to receive mail, one-on-one counseling, financial assistance such as rent and healthcare, and compassionate listening. They accept those who are using, but no use is allowed on-site. They are the only facility of this kind in the Portland area.www.rosehaven.org
